Consuming Fire

In Revelation 2 and 3, there is a description of the seven churches and what the Spirit is saying to those who have “ears to hear.” Have you ever wondered what the Spirit is saying to the churches in 2020? Well, I have, and I’ve asked that very question. The Holy Spirit showed me a mental picture of a Tower. Not just any tower … it was the Tower of Babel … and these words followed:

In the churches

Towers of Babel have been erected

within hearts in order to reach God

or to become a god.

It is built upon all a person is,

all he has,

all he thinks,

all he wills,

all he does,

all he strives for,

who he perceives himself to be.

Until that Tower comes down …

Hope and Faith are nothing more than an illusion.

Until Tower’s presence is acknowledged

it will continue trying to dress itself up in

the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

It is a Tower of delusion,

a Tower of deception,

a Tower that puts ‘self’ back on heart’s throne.

I AM with you and will never leave you.

I AM greater than any Tower.

But Tower must go.

I was stunned but could not deny what I was seeing. My next question was, “what is the Promise within what You are showing me, Lord?” His whisper:

Trust My Kindness

Trust My Heart

Trust My Spirit

“Repentance” is the Path

“Surrender” the Humbled Heart

Look beyond what are the assumed people,

ways, things, and attitudes to be surrendered …

to the Roots from which they come.

Remember, I AM the Great Physician of soul and spirit.

Nothing is impossible for Me.

Nothing is out of My sight.

Towers will come down!

I see those who are humbling themselves,

praying,

seeking My Face, and

turning from their wicked ways …

They are being heard.

Through the power of their confessions

I am removing

the guilt of their sin

and healing their land!

You asked what the Spirit is saying to the churches

and today I have solved your mystery.

Peaceful coexistence of Tower and Temple is impossible.

Lean into Me and We will bring that Tower down!

I AM Fire Consuming!

I AM Ablaze and Roaring!

Towers will come down!

Temples will Glorify God!

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” [Hebrews 12:28-29 NIV-1984]

“For the Eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His Ears are attentive to their cry.” [Psalm 34:15 NIV-1984]
