JAARS

Steve and Rebecca McMath – JAARS, Spokane, WA

Meet the newest members of CCV’s missionary family. The McMaths are missionary candidates serving with JAARS (Jungle Aviation And Radio Service). They are currently working with Moody Aviation in Spokane, WA as they continue raising their support.

Aviation missionary service is a tremendous help for missionaries in underdeveloped countries where poor infrastructure is a HUGE handicap. Movement of people and supplies to remote areas by small aircraft saves countless hours. Bible translation projects are especially benefited.

There is a need for skilled pilots, but equally important are those that service the aircraft. Steve has felt called to serve in the latter capacity. They had expected to be posted to Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea to work on the aircraft fleet operating in that area, but due to their 6 year old daughter Deborah’s health issues, this plan is on hold. They will remain in Spokane to work on aircraft overhauls, etc., which, when completed, will be used in various parts of the world.

One main prayer request: that they would have enough of their support raised to qualify Steve to attend the pre-field aviation orientation course at JAARS headquarters in Waxhaw, NC. It runs from February to June and is only given once a year.
