We have camped out in 2 Corinthians 10 for the past four weeks and have seen how the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but powerful in God, even to bringing down strongholds.  We looked carefully at four very important weapons in our arsenal against the enemy. The Blood of Jesus The Name of Jesus Worship and Prayer The Word of God Yesterday we studied how the Holy Spirit alone must empower us in order to effectively and accurately fight with our mighty weapons.  Remember, you can go to our website......

One of the great promises Jesus gave us is John 14:13-14. He then repeats it in John 16:23-24. “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” Coming out of our study we see that the authority in His Name is much more than just resisting and casting out evil spirits. He has given us authority in His Name to come to the......

According to 2 Corinthians 10, a stronghold is “a habitual pattern of thought built into our thought life.”  Such a pattern takes root in our lives in two ways: We yield to temptation over a period of time and the sinful action becomes habitual behavior We experience a traumatic event causing a sinful reaction, leading to replaying that reaction again and again in other events The enemy is fully aware of these behaviors and moves in to set up camp, when we are mostly unaware.  In time his camp becomes a......

2 Cor. 8,9 concentrated on three things that are characterized by liberality (having a kind and generous heart). Abounding in grace in every area of our lives Giving of what you have, not what you do not have Giving cheerfully, (not grudgingly) All three of these are empowered by the Holy Spirit as we live within His purpose for us, and within our spheres of influence. In this context, God blesses us with far more than enough to be prosperous and thus generously give of our time, talents, service and intercession, as......

Sunday, October 13th until Sunday, October 20th is the Feast of Tabernacles. It is a celebration of the fall harvest, a type of Thanksgiving Day for the Jews. It was a time of remembering how the Lord provided for them while they wandered in the wilderness. While we have been on this Daniel Fast, we have gone through several of the Holy Days of the Hebrew Calendar, starting with the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and now the Feast of Tabernacles. Each of those feasts foreshadow Christ in some way......

From sundown Tuesday October 8th to sundown Wednesday October 9th is what is known as Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement. This is one of the most sacred days in the Hebrew Calendar. It was the only time the High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies and make atonement for the sins of the people. It was established by God while the Jews were wandering in the wilderness. They were given command by God as to how they should prepare themselves. Leviticus 23:27; ” Also the tenth day of......

The main events in the spread of the Gospel in the early church were, First: the sending out of apostles. Second: establishing of new converts through the appointment of elders. It is significant that the early church did neither of these without first fasting and seeking God’s supernatural direction and help. It would be safe to say that the growth and expansion of the early church practiced corporate fasting. Last week Pastor Steve read from 2 Corinthians 6. I would like to follow from 2 Corinthians 6: 4-6 to carry on with......

To fast or not to fast, that is the question.  I hope all of you realize that there are other ways to fast than from food.  The most important thing is, “am I so hungry for God and desire to be found in prayer with Him, that I am willing to sacrifice something for that purpose?”  We can fast from television, games, or anything else that may distract us from what matters most. As we enter into the Daniel Fast, may I request that you give serious thought and prayer to your......
