1 Peter 4:10

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another

At Calvary Chapel Villages, there are several ministries where you can use your time, talents, and gifts to serve the local church body and community. Because the church focuses on its mission of “Receiving from God, Investing in People, Sharing Life, and Making Disciples,” they offer a variety of ways to get plugged in.

The primary volunteer opportunities available at Calvary Chapel Villages include:

If you have a heart for helping people through tough times, the Care Team is a great fit. Members lend a helping hand to those in need within the congregation. Serving areas include:

  • Bereavement support: Comforting those who have lost loved ones.
  • Meal Ministry: Providing meals to individuals or families recovering from illness, surgery, or major life changes.
  • Miscellaneous help: General practical assistance for seniors or those in need.

If you have a heart for helping people through tough times, the Care Team is a great fit. Members lend a helping hand to those in need within the congregation. Serving areas include:

  • Vocalist
  • Musician: Guitars, keyboard, drums, etc.
  • Audio/Visual & Tech support: Helping run the sound or presentation slides during the Sunday service

For those passionate about intercession, the Prayer Team gathers every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM in the Prayer Room (before the main 10:00 AM service) to pray for the needs of the church, individual prayer requests, and the community.

While these are heavily fellowship- and study-based, volunteers are frequently needed to help coordinate events, host “Villages Groups” (small groups) in their homes, or facilitate Bible studies.

Here are additional volunteer opportunities at Calvary Chapel Villages (CCV) that focus on hospitality, connection, and Sunday service preparation.

As a greeter, you are the very first face people see when they walk through the doors on Sunday morning. This role is all about hospitality and making everyone—especially first-time visitors—feel genuinely welcomed, noticed, and loved. Duties include:

  • Opening doors: and welcoming people with a smile
  • Handing out bulletins or informational materials
  • Directing people toward the Welcome Table, sanctuary, or restrooms

The Welcome Table is the hub for information and next steps at CCV. Volunteers in this area help people get plugged into the church community. If you enjoy chatting with people and helping them get connected, this is the perfect spot. Responsibilities include:

  • Answering general questions about the church, service times, and upcoming events
  • Helping newcomers fill out connect cards and supply name tags as needed
  • Providing information on how to join a “Villages Group” (community groups) or sign up for other ministries

Communion is a sacred and vital part of worship at Calvary Chapel. The setup team works behind the scenes to ensure the elements are prepared with care and reverence before the service begins. Tasks include:

  • Preparing the communion trays with the bread/crackers and juice cups
  • Setting up the communion tables in the sanctuary
  • Cleaning and storing the trays and supplies after the service concludes

Ready to Serve?

Since these hospitality and setup roles are highly active on Sunday mornings at Temple Shalom , volunteers can serve on a rotating schedule.

If you’d like to sign up for one of these specific roles, you can let a team leader know at the Welcome Table this Sunday.
